W.D. Lawrence House by Natasha Head – Featured Photo at the DYSTENIUM Online Community

Natasha writes: "One of my favorite historic homes to visit, located in the historic village of Maitland, Nova Scotia. It is said on stormy nights, when the winds are blowing through the bay, you can hear W.D. playing his violin. A beautiful spot that you must visit …" - Ed. note: House owner W.D. Lawrence was a prominent 19th century Canadian shipbuilder, businessman and politician. Born in Northern Ireland, he achieved fame in Canada as the most prominent and successful shipbuilder of his era. He died December 8, 1886 in Maitland, Nova Scotia at the age of 69
