Publishing An E-Book On Your Own? Two Key Manuals You MUST Have In Your Library (And Get This, They’re Free!)

Mark Coker of Smashwords was “eBook” before eBook was cool. Frustrated by the inability to publish his own book through the usual channels, he more or less backed into the eBook formatting and host platform/publishing business to meet his own very personal need.

Since that beginning in 2008, Mark’s company Smashwords has assisted 35,000 authors in publishing 100,000 eBooks, providing a convenient platform for text and file conversions, sales and marketing, and point-of-purchase payment processing.

Not too shabby. Not too shabby, indeed.

Well, Mark also wrote “the books” on on both eBook formatting and eBook marketing. Before you shell out hundreds of dollars for conversion software, eBook formatting “kits”, eBook formatting “telephone and online advice”, eBook “promotion” and eBook “marketing services”, etc., why not invest a few hours and read two free books instead?

The books are: Book Marketing Guide; and Style Guide. Both books are by, you guessed it, Mark Coker. If you’re just starting out on your eBook formatting and marketing quest, then spend a weekend with Mark via his books at your computer. Both will help you understand what else you may need to learn and will help you formulate intelligent questions you may need to ask, again before shelling out those hundreds of dollars for software, kits and advice from sometimes suspect “experts”.
